Letter# 15 Continued "Origin of the Nickname Wick"

( love 2 U 2 )

" Oh yes, F. B. , you ask 'bout the origin of the nickname you say so nice ...It was applied in school as Wicked Will. That was my senior year so it stuck,  as the last one always does. It was caused by my kidding other team members (basketball) with the first part... of their name.
There's lots I wanna know 'bout you and your letters do a pretty good job of giving  me the dope..."

"Well, honeybee, take care of things - let the cat out at nite - and lemme know what's new with you. ...
So goodbye now,
Love
Wick"

Letter #15 September 21,1944 "AH-H-H HA!"

page one

"Dearest Fran,
Probably this was forgotten- to thank you for writing during working hours ( the round letter etc.). Because it shows that you have time for outside thinking, and how nice it is to be in your thoughts. It'll take some time you know, Frannie, to catch up on those X's but we will get around to 'em anyway. Say the first page (of x's) then the next page breaks out with O's too so we must be shooting the breeze or maybe we stopped for oranges. AH-H-H-H HA!"

" Ya know, there always seems to be something important to say to you  but unfortunately around writing time  the usual blankness shrouds the old bean..... It all adds up that I must tell my Fran how much she's missed...  then too..., letters present a different side or angle on things... Anyway there are three (lovely) - who's drooling? - pictures here as a reminder of what I'm missing..."
