Letter #16 October 10,1944 " The Great Atlantic Hurricane Interrupts the Mail "

Unaware of the interruption to the military mail  service caused by the Great Atlantic Hurricane, Wick writes the following...

page one

" Dearest Fran,"
"Your letter of Sept 11, just got here today, maybe it was on account of the other address, so please use the one on the envelope. Then too I waited until hearing from you before writing ...And Fran, it was a  tough 31/2 weeks to wait as my desire for writing you was almost overpowering at times... "

" At this point an interruption  was made by a buddy from the next  tent. He starts talking and gets on the subject of overseas time. His point is that our time has been entirely wasted, maybe so but after all last  Spring you and I started in again. So its been a swell year just because of Lovely Lewis...."
